Monday: Ears catch sound

Rocket builds a giant paper ear.

"Now I can hear everything!" he shouts.

Raven asks, "What do you notice about ear shapes?"

Nova says, "Ears are good catchers."

The part you can see

You can see the outside part of your ear.

It is called the outer ear.

Its job is to gather sounds.

It sends sounds into a little tunnel.

The tunnel is called the ear canal.

The ear canal leads inside your head.

Ears and the brain

Ears send messages about sound to the brain.

Then the brain knows what you hear.
