Rocket makes a crayon pattern.

Raven hides one crayon under a cup.

Raven asks, "What do you notice?"

Nova hints, "Use the pattern to predict."

You will need

  • Ten crayons in two or three colors
  • A paper cup
  • A table or the floor
Safety first
Crayons stay out of mouths.
Work on a flat, clear space.
Put the crayons away after.

What to do

  1. Make a crayon pattern in a line.
  2. Close your eyes.
  3. A partner hides one crayon under the cup.
  4. Open your eyes and look at the pattern.
  5. Predict the hidden color.
  6. Lift the cup and check.
