Wednesday: Explorer Lab: Pixel art

Rocket colors squares very fast.

Oops! One square is the wrong color.

Raven asks, "What do you notice?"

Nova hints, "Count the boxes first."

You will need

  • Grid paper, or paper with a grid drawn
  • Crayons or markers
  • A ruler to draw lines
Safety first
Crayons and markers stay out of mouths.
A grown-up draws the grid if needed.
Work at a table.

What to do

  1. Get a grid with about ten rows.
  2. Pick a simple shape, like a heart.
  3. Color one box at a time.
  4. Each box gets just one color.
  5. Leave the other boxes white.
  6. Hold it far away and look.
