Explorer Quest: Sense walk

Rocket, Raven and Nova take a walk.

Raven hears birds. Rocket sees a truck.

Nova blinks, "What does each sound mean?"

  1. We sense with eyes, ears, hands and nose.
  2. Computers sense with sensors.
  3. A camera takes in pictures.
  4. A microphone takes in sounds.
  5. Perception means getting meaning.
◇ SENSE WALK
Take a walk with your grown-up.
Stop three times.
Each stop, name one thing you see.
Each stop, name one thing you hear.
Say what each sound means.
For a grown-up
Ask: what did you notice?
Ask: which sound was hardest to name?
Say: sensors sense, meaning comes next.
Stay together and near the path.
