A digital picture is made of many small spots of color called pixels. A computer stores a red, green and blue value for each pixel, each from 0 to 255; all three at 255 make white, and lower values make the pixel darker, down to black at 0. The same snapshot can be encoded in more than one way, and Sky Sorter turns each one into a feature row: a row of numbers that describes it.
